It is that time of year again – time to fill the bird feeder with a variety of treats! Sunflower seeds, peanut strings, bread crusts, apples, raisins, thistle, safflower…too many things to list! After a few days, when the birds have discovered the supply of food, it looks more like a bird invasion. Spend some time observing the birds and you will discover they have their own personalities: some birds are more timid than others, some cut in line while others patiently wait their turn. This type of feeder is a favorite of mine; I just love the thatched roof. Unfortunately the weather and the birds take their toll on the thatched roof, they never last more than a few years.
