Vintage Hermés silk scarf entitled “Hommage a L’Amite Franco-Hellenique” (Tribute to Franco-Hellenic friendship) It commemorated the Greek Revolution of 1821 and the friendship between Greece and France.
It was designed by Julia Abadie and said design depicts Greek war hero Theodoros Kolokotronis on horseback.
The scarf measures 35 5/8” x 35 3/4”. It has a rolled edge that is hand stitched. The roll is to the front. Stitches are 4.5 to 5mm apart. One corner has a thick matching thread that I believe is where the tag was sewn and was removed as many do not like to wear a scarf with a tag. Photos provided.
Scarf has a quality weight and thickness that Hermés scarves are known for. No perfume or odors.
It has a few spots from being worn. See close up photos.
